Having played together since 2006, the members of Toronto-based pop-rock quartet Jane’s Party – Devon Richardson, Tom Ionescu, Jeff Giles, and Zach Sutton – are moving forward with the momentum and confidence of a band ready to take the spotlight. After years of playing with and touring alongside the likes of The Arkells, Sam Roberts Band, LIGHTS, Blue Rodeo, Stars, Lord Huron, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and others, the band recently embarked on their first European tour as main support for the U.K.’s, Tom Odell. Faced with 13 sold-out rooms buzzing with 1500 to 4000 eager listeners each night, the band felt right at home, naturally tapping into their greatest strength: captivating audiences with their energetic live show and impeccable musicianship.
The band is currently supporting their acclaimed third full-length album, Tunnel Visions. Produced by Blue Rodeo’s Greg Keelor and recorded at his remote farm in Southern Ontario, the album is comprised of songs about being on the road, about losing loved ones, and about growing up and coming to grips with life. With input from outside voices entering the picture for the first time, the lead single Coming on Strong (named top 100 single of 2016 by CBC) was co-produced by The Darcys and features legendary singer/songwriter Jim Cuddy on backing vocals, while the distinguished music video boasts even more of the who’s who of the Canadian music scene. Tunnel Visions has proven that Jane’s Party have come a long way from their self-produced and recorded debut album in a garage in Toronto’s Jane and Finch neighbourhood. Nearly nine years later, the band is stepping out of the shadows in a big way, with features on Much Music, Musique Plus, and Indie 88 and regular rotation on Sirius XM and CBC Radio 2 and 3.
