Banksy's Haight Street Rat
We’re excited to be bringing notorious street artist Banksy’s “Haight Street Rat” to the Liquid Art Festival! The original piece was painted by the mysterious British graffiti artist in San Francisco in 2010, and has since been the subject of the documentary, “Saving Banksy” which tells the story of art collector Brian Grief on his mission to save the piece from being destroyed.
The “Haight Street Rat” was one of many paintings Banksy did when in San Francisco for 10 days, with many of his tags being painted over. Greif saw significant relevance in the rat piece and worked with the building’s owner to take it down. We will exhibit the piece at the first Liquid Art Festival this June at our brewery!
Banksy’s rat will be on display over the course of the weekend for festival goers, along with a Collective Arts screen-print gallery. Tickets are available at www.liquidartbrewfest.com/tickets
The exhibit will also run from June 17th – 20th at the Collective Arts Brewery, free for the public to come in and see.
